A Child's View of Life

Oh, if only we could look at life always like a young child. The way they are awestruck by the littlest things. I try and point out things as we are driving in the car. Yesterday I had the girls in the morning (Luke was at swimming lessons - see Jean's blog), and then we met Jean and Luke for lunch. He didn't like it that he wasn't able to come to grandma's house. I told him that he was welcome to come grocery shopping with me. The girls went home to take good naps for momma. After groceries we came to my house for a bit. He was so happy to be here by himself. I need to do that again. It has been a long time since we had any one on one. Anyway, to get to the story. We picked up Uncle Bobby and headed for his house. He loves all the diggers, etc on SR 43. We talk about them each time, whether they are working or not. Then we pulled on to 900 by his street. They were repaving it. I told Luke that we were driving on the new road. He was so amazed by it, and said "AWESOME, grandma." It is so fun to watch and hear the thrill in his little voice. Well, it isn't always little. :-) But, I love him dearly. I am so thankful that I can be a part of these little ones lives. They are so thrilled to see me. It truly makes my day each time I pick them up. I think it makes Jean's too!! I look forward to next week's adventure, and I will try and take some pictures.

Budding Artist???

I was in the house the other day with Krista, and Luke called out to me. He said: grandma, you better come and see Kayla. You won't like what she is doing! She had decided to make some artwork on the garage wall. At first I was astounded and upset, but then I realized oh well it will wash off. And what better place to be reminded of her loveliness than each time I pull into the garage (which is very frequent!). It brings a smile to my face each time I look at it. I may just keep it there. I should have her sign it. :-) Some day she will be on to other things, and I will be wishing she would want to draw on my wall. The time goes by so very quickly. Last Sunday, Krista turned 10 months! Where does it go. I must take more time with these little jewels and enjoy them while they want to do things with their old grandma.
