Miss Messy

Today it rained for the most part, so we had our fun inside. The morning was spent playing with the kitchen on the porch and giving treats to Mollie. When the rain stopped, Luke had the idea to take Mollie for a walk. He wanted to do it himself, so I had him walk her around the house. He did this twice. He was so proud of himself. Kayla and Krista are becoming great friends as well as sisters. They play so delightfully with the kitchen. It is so fun to watch. Of course, Krista may become bored when she figures out how to climb that one step to get out of the porch/playpen!! But until then...

Lunch was our usual dinosaur peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. Luke and Kayla gobble them up so that they can have their chips. Krista, who didn't stay a baby long enough for grandma, eats PB & J too now. She is just messy. I told her how messy she was and she made the cutest faces that I had to share one with you. I can't believe how well she eats at her age - she is only 9 1/2 months old!!! Enjoy, and have a great remainder of your week.

Arrows That Honor Their Parents - Arrow #3 family

Fresh flowers came from our arrows in Texas,

Arrow #2 family

and flowering bushes (one for each of our little jewels) to enjoy in the future came from our local arrows,

Arrow #1

and then Bobby gave us money toward our hotel on Friday. We are truly blessed by the 3+2 arrows that God has given us. Our quiver is indeed full. We are thankful to each of them for how they honored us for our 34th anniversary. Thanks Bobby, Eric, Jean, Luke, Kayla, Krista, Joe, and Heather! We love you all!!!

That's My Guy!

"Now these three remain, faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." (I Cor. 13:13) I am so thankful that the Lord created love and instituted the sacrament of marriage. Yesterday 'my guy' and I celebrated 34 years together. I am so thankful that he fell into a mud puddle in my front yard 3 1/2 years before our marriage when I was the ripe age of 15 1/2!!! God has molded us and formed us into what He wants us to be, and I hope that He will allow us to serve Him for many more years together. Bob is not the person I would have went looking for since he was not church going at that time, but the Lord knew what I needed and sent him my way. We have 3 great sons, 2 wonderful 'daughters' and 3 delightful grandchildren. We are very blessed indeed. Thanks for the wonderful ride, dear. I hope it continues for a long time yet. I love you dearly!! And more each day!!!!!

Fun at Chick-Fil-A

We took Bobby and the grandkids to Chick-Fil-A last Friday evening. Boy, that was a trip. It went very well, but they only have tables for four!! We managed, but it would have been better with a larger table. I am not complaining, mind you. It is just difficult to get 4 'kids' up to the table with 2 adults when there are only 4 spaces. Luke and Kayla ate their nuggets at different paces, and then they went to the play area. I know, you think Kayla arrived first. Wrong!! She didn't want to eat, and Luke gobbled his food right up. He loves to eat now. It is so fun to take them out. Kayla made it though, and grandpa shot lots of pictures with his new camera. No it isn't a Nikon, Rebecca. But we really like it for the money. I don't know who had more fun - grandpa, Luke, or Kayla! Bobby, Krista, and I watched the fun from afar. Then Krista got bored, so grandma decided to corrupt her with her first sip of Diet Coke. Mom couldn't believe it. Oh well, it had to happen.

Celebrations

I know, it is feast or famine on this blog. First, you don't hear from me. Second, you don't get any pictures. And now you are getting lots of both. Sometimes, that is how life goes.

We celebrated Father's Day and Bobby's birthday on Saturday. Then we went to Immanuel RPC on Sunday evening and celebrated Bobby's birthday once again during fellowship dinner. He is loved by both congregations, and we thought he would really enjoy this. He sure did, and it was a fun time by all. Kathryn made Bobby a special 'cookie monster' cake, and he was so delighted. Thanks Kathryn. You are a jewel too!!
We have pictures of Bobby opening his gift from Texas, from us all here, and Bob opening things here with lots of help from the kids. Enjoy the pictures, and I will try and keep you better posted.
We are so thankful for our family far and near. You all made it a special time for Bobby and dad. But then they are pretty special!!!!

Ice Cream Fun

Grandpa and I had the grandkids for a while a week ago. We thought it would be fun to make some ice cream. We hadn't done this for quite some time. So Kayla helped grandma mix the ingredients, Luke helped grandpa pour them in the maker and get the ice ready, and Krista ignored us all while she played on the porch. She enjoyed the end result though. It was a fun time by all.

Better Late Than Never

Here are a couple of pictures of the fun we had last Friday with our squirt guns. Krista wanted to come and join us, so she left her blanket. I was having too much fun to stop and take more.

Fun & Games

I went to the store today, and now I can't wait until tomorrow. You ask why? I purchased 3 new squirt guns, and I am going to get Luke and Kayla. Mom had better send extra clothes! It has been so warm that I haven't felt like doing anything. Tomorrow the grandchildren are coming for the day and night. Eric is having a man's night, so Jean and the kids are escaping to grandma & grandpa's house!! First she will go out with a friend for some fun herself. While she is away, grandma and the kids will play. I hope to have some pictures for you, but I may be having too much fun to stop and click. You will just have to wait and see. So stay tuned....

Mom turns 80

Today is my mother's 80th birthday. I am so very thankful for her. Bobby and I went up to Michigan last week to celebrate her birthday with my siblings. It was a wonderful time. (Of course, i don't have any pictures. I need to get some from my mom. Her camera works. Mine needs to get fixed quickly. Anyway, back to mom.) It is truly a blessing to have her for these many years. The Psalms say that "our lives are seventy years; and if by reason of strenghth they are eighty years,.." We as a family have been blessed to have our parents reach 80+ years. They have given us a legacy that is God-fearing, and I am so thankful for them and what they have taught us over the years. Not only have they been married for almost 59 years, but all of their married children have been married for 28 or more years. They have taught us the ways of the Bible, and we all know how we should walk. Not one of us can say that we were not taught the truth. I am so thankful they have stood by me through all the errors of my ways. I am also thankful that the Lord has drawn me to Himself. Happy Birthday, Mom!!
